My paintings are inspired by the beauty and variety of nature. Walking through the environment inspires me to look at the nature of the objects I observe, from the marks of the hermit crab in the sand, the glint of water on a pebble and the colours on a tree. Untimely experiences in life allow us to slow down and be mindful of our presence on the Earth. There is spirituality in the unrelenting sea; through gradual movement of rocks, shells and creatures, all things are reduced to pebbles. My work aims to evoke the essence of discovering the landscape, its innate qualities and my own feelings towards the details of my encounters.
